Does Reddit work for AI SaaS?

Yes, but slowly, and mostly for low-priced tools. Only 1 of the 21 ranked AI businesses with a sourced growth channel credits Reddit: Postiz, at $352,000 a month from 10,300 subscriptions (verified; the Reddit channel is self-reported). Reddit Agency sells Reddit marketing and makes $38,000 a month from 8 clients (verified, Nov 2, 2026). Founders on r/SaaS and r/microsaas report $2,300–$3,000 a month from Reddit-led growth; one fell back to $500 when he stopped posting.

Verified MRR and subscriptions from Stripe via TrustMRR. Postiz's channel is the founder's own account (Self-reported): he has written that he open-sourced Postiz in September 2024 after paid marketing failed and launched it on Reddit (how much Postiz makes). Avg per sub = MRR ÷ active subscriptions (our math). Nobody here publishes Reddit ad spend.

Main channel = the first channel each business names on TrustMRR or in founder statements. Ranked = verified payment data synced in the last 30 days, same rule as the leaderboard. Small groups: read medians as a direction.

Reddit is rare as a named channel but sits behind the biggest one: Postiz is the largest ranked AI business on our leaderboard. Of the 5 ranked businesses making $100k+ a month, the two with a sourced channel credit Reddit and open source (Postiz) and organic search (Rezi), both self-reported. One big outlier is not a pattern, so treat Reddit as a channel that can work for a developer-friendly, low-priced tool, not a default.

What results do founders report from Reddit?

SourceProductReported resultEffortLabel
r/SaaS, about Dec 2025Solo micro SaaS (a Reddit lead tool)~$3,000 MRR in months 3–6; 80% of trials from 12 subreddits; 60% of paying users from DMs; ~22% trial-to-paid. Fell to ~$500 MRR after he moved to another project (churn 7% → 14% a month)~90 minutes a day of replies, no links on first contactreported (founder claim)

The common thread: Reddit works when someone shows up every day, in a few niche subreddits, answering before pitching. Both founder reports come from people who sell Reddit or social outreach tools, so read them as the upper end. The r/SaaS founder's drop from about $3,000 to $500 is the clearest warning: the channel stops when you stop.

Does Reddit still help you show up in ChatGPT?

Less than it did. Promptwatch data reported by Semrush shows Reddit's share of ChatGPT citations falling from 3.8% (Jul 18–Aug 7, 2026) to about 0.5% (Aug 14–17, 2026); OpenAI said ChatGPT still cites Reddit. Reddit threads still rank in Google for "best X for Y" searches and still get read on opinion-style questions. Reddit Agency sells exactly this outcome ("get ChatGPT to recommend your brand or you don't pay"). For what gets pages cited instead, see how to get cited by ChatGPT.

The AI Receipts' own first-party analytics, Oct 14 to Nov 2, 2026 (8:28 AM CT), owner and internal traffic removed. Engaged = stayed and interacted. One small site, three weeks: a direction, not a benchmark.

On our own site, Reddit was the biggest named source, ahead of ChatGPT and Google, but people who arrived from ChatGPT turned into newsletter subscribers about three times as often. Reddit visitors come to look; visitors from an AI answer come with a question already asked.

How should an AI SaaS use Reddit?

  1. Pick a few subreddits where your buyers already ask for help. The r/SaaS founder got 80% of trials from 12 subreddits. Read for a week before posting.
  2. Answer first, link later. Both founder reports say links on first contact hurt; DMs after a useful reply did most of the converting.
  3. Price for volume. Postiz averages about $34 a month per subscription (our math). Reddit-scale reach suits a tool people can try today, not a $500-a-month contract.
  4. Budget the time or pay someone. ~90 minutes a day in one report; Reddit Agency's clients pay about $4,800 a month each instead (our math).
  5. Add channels that keep working when you stop. Search and listings compound: how to get backlinks for an AI SaaS, where to list an AI SaaS. Compare TikTok and Meta ads.

FAQ

Does Reddit marketing work for AI SaaS?

It can. Postiz, an open-source AI social media scheduler, makes $352,000 a month (verified, TrustMRR, checked Nov 5, 2026) and its founder credits Reddit plus open source. It is the only one of 21 ranked AI businesses with a sourced channel that names Reddit. Most others grow through search, TikTok, Meta ads or a founder audience.

How much revenue can Reddit bring a small SaaS?

Founder reports cluster in the low thousands a month. One solo founder on r/SaaS (about Dec 2025) said he reached about $3,000 MRR, with 80% of trials from 12 subreddits and 60% of paying users from DM conversations, then fell to about $500 after he stopped. A founder on r/microsaas (Apr 2026) said he got his first customer days after a Reddit launch and reached 100 paying customers and $2,300 MRR. Both sell Reddit or social outreach tools; these are their claims, not verified.

How much does a Reddit marketing agency cost?

Reddit Agency does not list a price; it charges on results ("or you don't pay"). Its verified MRR is $38,000 from 8 clients, about $4,800 per client a month (our math, TrustMRR, Nov 2, 2026). It swung from $47,800 with 8 clients (Oct 14) to $34,750 with 7 (Oct 22) and back to $38,000.

Does posting on Reddit get you cited by ChatGPT?

Less than it used to. Promptwatch data reported by Semrush shows Reddit's share of ChatGPT citations fell from 3.8% (Jul 18–Aug 7, 2026) to about 0.5% (Aug 14–17, 2026); OpenAI said ChatGPT still cites Reddit. Reddit threads still rank in Google and get read by AI assistants on opinion questions. See how to get cited by ChatGPT.

Is Reddit traffic good for conversions?

On our own site it is high volume, low conversion. From Oct 14 to Nov 2, 2026, Reddit sent 159 unique browsers and 2 newsletter signups; ChatGPT sent 97 browsers and 4 newsletter signups; Google sent 135 and 0 (first-party analytics, owner and internal traffic removed). Small numbers, one site.

Is there a faster way to reach AI founders than Reddit?

If you sell to AI builders, a labelled placement in front of people checking AI revenue is more direct than weeks of comments. The AI Receipts sells a sponsored leaderboard row plus Mon/Wed/Fri newsletter mentions for $29/mo while under 2,000 visitors a month; first month free for every new sponsor. Audience: about 1,100 unique browsers a month and 16 newsletter subscribers (as of Nov 5, 2026). No click guarantees.
