Where to list an AI SaaS

List on Product Hunt for launch day, on a few curated AI directories for “AI tool for X” discovery, and on a verified-revenue leaderboard if you want buyers to trust the numbers. Then pick one owned channel. Of the 17 ranked AI businesses in our data with a sourced channel (checked Oct 28, 2026), the most common is SEO / YouTube (5). 12 grew through SEO, TikTok/Instagram or Meta ads without a personal following. We do not invent third-party directory traffic figures.
Where should you list an AI tool? Pick by goal
| Goal | Where to list | What it is good for | What our data shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch-day spike | Product Hunt (and similar launch communities) | One concentrated day of attention and feedback, not a lasting listing. | Treat it as a campaign. After launch day, the businesses in our data kept growing through a repeatable channel (SEO, Reddit, X, TikTok or ads), not through more directories. |
| Be found when someone searches “AI tool for X” | Niche AI directories (There’s An AI For That, Futurepedia, Toolify and peers) | Category pages can rank for tool-discovery searches. Completeness and category fit matter more than submitting to 100 sites. | 5 of the 17 ranked businesses with a sourced channel name SEO or YouTube as a main channel (e.g. MagicSlides, QR Code AI, Laper, Taja AI). |
| Credibility with buyers who care about revenue | Verified-revenue directories and leaderboards (TrustMRR; The AI Receipts) | A payment-verified MRR figure is a different signal from a feature blurb. Buyers and journalists can check it. | We rank 39 AI businesses with processor data synced in the last 30 days (median $22,800 MRR, checked Oct 28, 2026). |
| Ongoing distribution, not a one-time listing | Own channel: SEO, short video, communities, or founder audience | Listings rarely replace distribution. Our sourced channels are where customers actually came from. | Of 17 ranked businesses with a sourced channel, the most common bucket is SEO / YouTube (5). 12 grew via SEO, TikTok/Instagram or Meta ads without relying on a personal following. |
Directory names above are common submission targets in 2026 founder guides. We are not endorsing paid tiers, and we are not quoting their traffic. Evidence for “what worked” is limited to channels we can source on each case.
How did AI businesses with real revenue actually get customers?
This is the part most “best directories” posts skip. For every business below we have a main channel from the TrustMRR listing Verified or the founder Self-reported.

Monthly revenue is MRR from payment data (Stripe, RevenueCat or Superwall via TrustMRR) for ranked rows only (synced in the last 30 days). Channel labels match how AI businesses get customers. Full leaderboard: 39 ranked · median $22,800.
Do you still need directories if SEO or TikTok works?
Yes, as supporting surfaces, not as the plan. A clean Product Hunt launch and a few category-fit AI directory pages help early discovery and backlinks. They do not show up as the “main channel” for the businesses we track. Postiz ($324,000) grew with Reddit and open source (self-reported channel). MagicSlides and QR Code AI name SEO. Vid.AI and Goodie AI name Meta Ads and short video. Match the listing to the channel you can actually run.
When is a revenue leaderboard the right “directory”?
When your buyer (or a journalist, or ChatGPT) needs to believe the money. Feature directories describe what the product does. A payment-verified row describes what it earns. That is why we run The AI Receipts leaderboard with evidence labels and a 30-day freshness rule, and why founders ask to be listed or to sponsor a slot next to those rows.
For AI founders
Get listed where revenue is the proof
Early-bird ladder: only 7 spots, earlier = cheaper (next open from $9.99/mo, locked while you stay). Each spot is a labelled leaderboard row plus newsletter mentions. Audience numbers and the inquiry form are on the sponsor page.
What is a practical listing checklist?
- One launch day. Product Hunt (or an equivalent launch community) with a clear one-liner, demo and category.
- Three to five AI directories that match your use case. Skip bulk submit bots.
- One owned channel you will run for 90 days: SEO pages, short video, Reddit/Slack communities, or build-in-public on X. Use our channel examples and no-audience examples.
- One proof surface. If you have real revenue, get it verified and listed where numbers are the product — including The AI Receipts.
FAQ
Where should I list my AI SaaS first?
Start with one launch surface (usually Product Hunt) plus two or three high-fit AI directories, then invest in one owned channel. Across the 17 ranked businesses in our data with a sourced channel (checked Oct 28, 2026), customers came from SEO / YouTube most often (5), not from “submit everywhere.”
Do AI tool directories actually bring customers?
Sometimes for discovery searches, rarely as the main engine. We only list a growth channel when the TrustMRR listing or the founder names it. Directory spam is not one of those sourced channels for the businesses we track.
What are the best directories for AI tools in 2026?
For launch: Product Hunt. For “AI tool for X” discovery: major curated AI directories (There’s An AI For That, Futurepedia, Toolify and similar). For proof of revenue: TrustMRR and The AI Receipts leaderboard. We do not publish third-party traffic estimates; pick directories that match your category and that you can keep updated.
How do AI startups get customers without listing in directories?
12 ranked examples in our set grew through SEO/YouTube, TikTok/Instagram or Meta ads; 3 name a founder audience on X; 2 name communities such as Reddit or Slack. See the channel table on this page and /how-ai-businesses-get-customers/.
Should I pay for a featured directory listing?
Only after an owned channel works or you have a clear category fit. Paid boosts amplify what already converts. Getting payment-verified on a revenue leaderboard is a different bet: it supports trust and citations, not a traffic spike.
How do I get listed on The AI Receipts?
Use the sponsor page to claim an early-bird ladder spot (labelled leaderboard row + Mon/Wed/Fri newsletter), or submit via our intake if you want to be matched and eventually verified. We only publish processor-verified or clearly labelled figures. Only 7 early-bird spots; earlier joiners pay less, locked while they stay.
