⚠ Monthly revenue is down about half from its January 2026 peak ($44,459 → $21,532 in October).

⚠ Listed for sale on TrustMRR since Dec 18, 2025 at $1.2M (4.5x revenue per TrustMRR), with 21 offers received; the listing does not say why it is for sale.

⚠ TrustMRR shows a 75% profit margin for the last 30 days, but costs are not connected, so that figure is founder-provided, not verified.

⚠ User counts conflict and are both self-reported: the site says "90,000+ creators", the TrustMRR listing estimates 27,000 users. Neither is verified.

⚠ Its customers depend on platform monetization, and YouTube's "inauthentic content" rule bars mass-produced, repetitive videos from earning.

The story

StoryShort makes short-form faceless videos for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram. You type what the video is about (or paste a video that did well) and it writes the script, plans each scene, keeps the same characters from shot to shot, adds a voice and word-by-word captions, then posts on a schedule. Its founder, Samuel Rondot, is a French indie maker; TrustMRR lists an Aug 6, 2024 founding date.

Pricing (storyshort.ai/pricing, checked Oct 31, 2026): Starter $39/mo (about 26 videos of 30 seconds), Growth $69/mo (about 80), Influencer $130/mo (about 160) and Ultra $200/mo (about 330), or about 40% less billed yearly ($280 to $1,400 a year). That works out to about $56 a month per subscription (our calc.: MRR ÷ subscriptions), between the Starter and Growth plans.

Verified monthly revenue peaked at $44,500 in January 2026 and has drifted down since: $28,000 in March, $23,000 in June, $21,200 in September and $21,500 in October through Oct 30 (UTC, partial month). That is about half the January peak, and about 13% below November 2025 ($24,600). TrustMRR showed MRR up 19.3% over the 30 days to Nov 4, 2026 while monthly cash stayed flat, which can happen when yearly subscribers renew or switch to monthly plans; the listing does not say which.

The founder posts his tests in public on X (self-reported, not verified): removing the free trial raised conversion from 0.33% to 0.57% (Oct 2, 2026), and Google search brought 44 new customers in one week, its best week since July (Oct 24, 2026). Revenue figures are pulled from StoryShort's TrustMRR listing, which reads them directly from Stripe (last synced Nov 4, 2026).

Our verdict

Replicable?

Partly

The parts are off-the-shelf (an LLM for scripts, image and video models, text-to-speech, the platforms' posting APIs) and short-form faceless tools are crowded. StoryShort's edge is two years of tuning plus SEO and the founder's public audience. The risk sits with its customers: YouTube demonetizes mass-produced, repetitive videos.
